Quick--Perplexus Puzzle Question?

DS is heading to a birthday party for a child that we don't know really well. From what I can gather about him the Perplexus puzzle would make a good gift. He's turning 7 and has older twin siblings that are 9....would you get him the original or rookie?? Need to get this today or tomorrow so your quick answers are appreciated

DS got the original around age 9 and even after three years he enjoys the challenge. I think it's better to buy something for them to grow into. :)

Agreeing with the others. DS1 got the original (it was the only one available at the time) for his 6th birthday and completed it within a couple months.
