Does anyone have the Tervis waterbottles (http://www.tervis.com/products/Storefront/25/a5048c8f126ef93d4115c53fd9d9a5f3) (not the lidded straw cup things)?

I am so sick of looking for bottles for them. I need one that is:

1. Not metal (DS3 throws things when he is angry and a full plastic bottle is bad enough, but he has broken things with the Funtainers and Contigos).

2. No sport top, straw or bite valve (they chew them)

3. Stays closed/ no leaks (these (http://www.rubbermaid.com/Category/Pages/ProductDetail.aspx?SubcatId=RefillReuseBottles&Prod_ID=RP091889)are nice size and everything else, but tossed in a bag they pop open and soak everything)

Wondering if the Tervis ones would work. I'm going to try to get to BBB to check them out, but looking for feedback.

I've wanted one for a while, so I checked out the reviews on Amazon the other day and changed my mind. Not so great. We have 3 of these (http://www.amazon.com/Thermos-Nissan-Intak-Hydration-Bottle/dp/B001EGGQB6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1361405301&sr=8-4&keywords=water+bottle+with+straw) and love them.

:yeahthat: I have two of those and I like them a lot.

I third that opinion. That is the only kind of water bottle we will ever buy again. We got ours at Target. I'm not sure if they still sell them though.

I love the Intaks. My daughter has a bit of a "thing" for waterbottles, and has quite the collection, but even she always returns to the Intak. My Targets still have them, as does my Walgreens.

But, I'm not sure how completely leakproof they are. If the top seal deal isn't seated right, they can leak, for sure. I use mine to death, but I don't throw any water bottle into a bag. I'll toss it onto the floor of the car or whatever, but I'm too paranoid to throw any bottle into a bag with anything I'd not want wet!

Thanks all. I will look for the Intak bottles first. We have the adult Contigos... I'm not sure why I ruled out the kid ones last time, but I'll take another look.

I loved those contigos that you linked to (we got ours at costco) for water when my kids were younger. It is still my go to for taking soy milk for my allergy child if we go out somewhere. Now that my kids are older they use the adult contigos with the straw (Costco).

My kindergarten daughter takes either a plastic kids Contigo or the Playtex Coolsters with her school lunch. She says she prefers the playtex ones (not sure why). She was using her funtainer, but it fell off the table at lunch and the lid broke so I decided plastic may be the best choice for school for now. Before the lid broke it also leaked once in her backpack when it got tipped on its side. The only time the Contigo has leaked was once when I didn't have the lid screwed on correctly. The playtex ones have never leaked and those things can take a beating (she's been using them since she was 2 and they often get dropped on the floor).

While you're looking I noticed Target has these now http://www.amazon.com/Thermos-Insulated-18-Ounce-Stainless-Steel-Hydration/dp/B000FJ9DOK/ref=sr_1_1?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1361472541&sr=1-1&keywords=thermos+intak

It closes the same was as the regular intak but is insulated. For what it's worth I throw the regular intak bottles in the diaper bag all the time and they haven't leaked. DH lays his down on it's side everyday in his lunchbox and he's never had a problem.

I'm not sure what the Amazon reviews say, but we have the Tervis water bottles and they work great for us!
