Here are the two contenders for the loft beds I want to order, please help me decide which one!! Thank you...Jennifer.

I like this one since the height of the loft is adjustable. Not getting that desk, too large.

This one is adjustable too. They will make it to my exact specifications. But I'd have to paint it and it looks clunky. I'm worried about how it will look.

I like the second one better! And it makes me want to start the search for loft beds, too!

You don't think the second one looks really clunky?

I much prefer the second one as well. I think either one is nice though. I would never think "clunky" when I look at the second one, btw.

I like the second one better but I would think about the height underneath. My DD is really tall, almost 5' and I imagine she would outgrow that bed fairly quickly.

Love the look of the second one. I would also sorry though about the height as my kids are really tall. Plus I would worry about headroom when they want to sit up in bed. No laying with them to read stories or comfort a sickie... how do you change the sheets on those?

ETA I just noticed on your other thread that your kids are 8 and 3. I would check the safety regulations on the beds because I believe loft or bunk beds are not recommended for kids under 6.

Right now I'm only getting one for the 8 year old.

What do mean, outgrow the bed? The bed itself or underneath the bed? They can be made in any size or length.

I wouldn't want either really. I have the same concerns as PunkyBoo.

I would go with a Twin or full bed and a regular desk unless you really need the space. I too would worry about the sets being outgrown as well. If you know for sure you are eventually going to want to have your kids share a room I would get a twin over full bunk bed or two twin beds that can be bunked (they sell ones that can be used as regular beds, not just bunk beds. I know Stanley makes them) and just get two desks or put the desks in the extra room if you have it.

A good friend of mine actually just built one of these for his daughter and it is so cool. I believe he used the plans from this site. http://ana-white.com/2012/07/plans/camp-loft-bed-stair-junior-height.

That looks so neat! Love the little book shelf under the steps.
