So I went out and bought another Ikea Expedit 2x4 unit on CL last night to put in my front entry closet, but even though I had measured beforehand it didn't end up fitting due to an old security system box that was in the way. So since I already had the closet completely emptied out, I decided to paint it (I already had an extra can of unused paint) and throw out a bunch of stuff and declutter it. The Expedit ended up going in my master closet which I had wanted to do eventually anyways and I plan to get another for DBF's side of the closet.

Here's some pics:

Looks nice and I bet you feel accomplished. I hate doing these types of projects but love the results :) Enjoy.

Much better! What did you do with the reusable grocery bags? I've yet to find a good solution for those...

It looks great! I'm in awe that you can fit everything in such a tiny closet though. However, you're in CA, right? So yiu don't deal with winter boots and 3 different seasons of jackets and coats all at the same time.

Wow, nice work!! I really need to do an overhaul on our mudroom closet-this is great inspiration!

Thanks! And yes, we're in Los Angeles so those jackets/coats rarely get worn (and no winter boots needed). Most of the time the kids just wear a hoodie or fleece pullover and I wear normal sweaters and cardigans. Even when it rains (rarely) DS1 still doesn't want to wear his LE waterproof jacket. If I had been able to put the Expedit in there I would have just put all the jackets in our bedroom closets. We do take them on vacations though!

Those were the two super giant Ikea reusable bags that I rarely use. I put them in the Expedit that is now in my master closet. I try and keep the reusable bags that we use every day in the car or after unloading groceries I hang them on the hooks that are next to our front door till I can put them back in the car. I always keep one or two foldable reusable bags in my purse as well and have a few more in that little red basket that is on the top of the hanging organizer (along with my sunglasses and zipper pouches of coupons and receipts).

Latia, do you mind if I ask, where you got that organizer on the left side of your closet where you have your magazines hanging? I've been looking for something like that, but the only place I've seen it is in the 31 catalog.

Great job - and I love the fun burst of green. I love bright colors inside of closets.
