Anyone have any cool Purim themes or costumes to share? My kids were Minnie Mice and Sorcerer Mickey this year. I had so much fun collecting all the pieces for the costumes.

My DD's just wore their Halloween costumes again! My little one has grown so much because her Halloween costume was big on her and now it barely fits!

I love the photo of your kids - looks like they had a good time! Baby Minnie is beyond cute.

So cute!! Love the Minnies and Mickey Sorcerer.

We did a Muppets theme. My kids were not co-operating for pictures so this was the best we got.

DS was Kermit, DD1 was Beaker, DD2 was Miss Piggy and DD3 was the Swedish Chef. DH and I were the 2 old guys - Waldorf and Statler. I had lots of fun making the kids costumes.

We also did Muppets theme Misloach Manot (food gift baskets for our friends). They were a bit of work but DH and I have so much fun doing them that it's worth the effort in the end.

DS1 wore his Wizard costume from this past Halloween.

DS2 wore DS1's old Iron Man costume (because his Bakugan costume from Halloween was ripped)

DS3 wore his Hulk costume from this past Halloween. He was going to wear DS2's old pirate costume, but he had worn it to two pirate-themed birthday parties the day before and got cupcake frosting all over it.

I incorporated DS3's party favors (pirate sword and skull bandana) into my own pirate costume (long cotton skirt and old "puffy shirt" worn with a corset over the top). I must say I am glad women no longer wear corsets every day...but they do look great.

Just wanted to add that your gift boxes (and costumes) were awesome. They would have fit in perfectly with last year's muppet themed purim speil at our temple. (This year's theme was Star Wars) I wish I could get DH to join in a family theme. At least I got him to wear a costume this year. He went as a biker...he came up with the costume yesterday morning...because he didn't feel like shaving.

At the last minute, a friend of mine invited us to the Purim festival at her temple. The kids wore their favorite dress up costumes.

As a Christian I was very interested in their Megillat. I found all the text AND notes made for a richer more nuanced story than the one in our bible. So much politics!

All adorable costumes!

My kids mostly did not dress up this year (ds put on some spy gear that he removed before he even walked in the temple door and dd wore a hello kitty shirt and declared it her costume), but they did have a blast at the purim carnival.

Miley's mom, love ur theme. The costumes & shalach manot are adorable. This was the year I let the kids choose. DD1 was a drummer girl ( bought a costume that looks like a cross between marching band & Buckinghsm palace guard lol). DD2 was a bride. And DS was a monkey. Cuz he is :p ! DD1 actually insisted on designing her own bags this year- with red & gold candy to match her costume!

Megillas Esther is full of intrigue. It has loads of commentaries and I love studying it.

My 8 year old had no interest in dressing up.

I made my 5 year old a costume like that. I used and old box. For the "studs, " I used the foam circle from the fake floral aisle at Michael's. I spray painted it a glossy royal blue,a nd used the hot glue gun to write "Lego" on the studs. Then I bought him a royal blue t-shirt and sweat pants from the one hanes place catalog.

It was truly a masterpiece......

and he didn't wear any of it! he was so excited to go shopping at Michael's to buy the supplies!!!
