Looking for skateboards for my 5 and 8 year old sons. Both beginners. Any suggestions? Guidance what to look for/ avoid?

DS1 got a Ripstik caster board last year for his 8th birthday. He has a good time on that. It took a while to learn, but he did. It was his first skate board type of thing, but he did have a scooter for a few years.

we saw kids at the St. Paddy's parade riding these Penny skateboards, they had like a little give to the wheels when they jumped on, they are a bit shorter, like, to fit in a backpack... super cute colors and I love the info i've read about them!!

I like the Penny skateboards too! DS2 is super athletic (does tricks on his Mini Kick scooter) and has been talking about getting a skateboard since he was two! I told him he had to wait till he was at least 4 and I have the Penny skateboard on my list for him. I skated all through high school and college (cheerleader skater girl!) and loved it! I didn't give up my board till after I had DS1!
