DS is in private school, but good chance we'll be moving him to either a charter school (fingers crossed) or our local school. DS's current school doesn't have to follow state curriculum, so I want to make sure DS is up to speed on as much as possible. He doesn't have a desk, they have tables and do a lot of hands-on projects. If he gets into a charter, it'll be similar instruction methods. If it's our local school, it'll be traditional schooling.
Reading - had him evaluated by reading specialist and he's at age level, has a couple areas of weaknesses that she'll be working with him on for rest of year and she thinks he'll respond quickly to the reading plan.
Math - his school does Everyday Math, as do many local schools. I'll make sure to go over his workbook with him over the summer and see if needs more help in any areas. Working on improving addition/subtraction math facts.
Writing - have HWT 2nd grade work book. He wants me to teach him cursive.
Spelling - he's doing fine, but think his lists are easier than what others have posted here.
Any other ideas?
Thanks.
