Seems like a great price on the Strider balance bikes (lowest ever according to camelcamelcamel.) I've been meaning to get DS2 one, since he's always asking for a bike like brother's and has outgrown his tricycle. The weather's nice enough now we can actually use it!
Amazon.com has the red Strider for $61.50 and other colors are on sale too (green is $65.53, orange is $67.64.) Free super saver shipping, too.

That's a steal - grab it!

I got mine for $59.99 on amazon.com in Nov 2011 so camelcamel has it wrong!

Thanks OP! My little guy is only turning one next week but this will be great to store away for when he is older and more interested. Great deal!

Sounds like a great deal. My son started using his at 18 months and grew out of it at about 3 1/2

Good luck! I hope it ships at that price - what an amazing deal! The pink is now listed by a different seller for $62.94.

Thanks! I hope so too! Funnily enough, I noticed that after I bought the red one, the price lowered to $60.42. 0.o Oh, Amazon, and your crazy fluctuating prices!

I already received mine! Was on my front porch when I was leaving for carpool at 8am! Super fast delivery. Can't waits to give it to him for his 2nd birthday... In July. I also have a kitchen and BBQ set back from Christmas saved for him. Whoopsie. His other brothers might get a little jealous by his massive amount of presents.

Great price! We got the one for DS2 from Overstock for $69.99 for Christmas, i thought that was good :)

He starting riding it at 18 months, and loves it. Lifting his legs and gliding already when we get outside!

Thanks! Birthday time is going to be fun at our house!

Question - Our twins are just starting to walk. How do you know when they're ready to try this?

I was all set to order this and then I remembered the diapers.com codes they have for their new sites and decided to see if I could get it one one of their sites....so it depends on the color you want if it will be a deal, but if you haven't yet ordered anything from afterschool.com, you can get 30% off, up to $20. For the blue bike the price ended up being $51, vs. 66 at amazon :yay: Didn't check if the bike is available at vine, yoyo, etc.

Nice find!
I sent my sister that way to get the orange one. There is also 1% back from a couple of the CB sites.

Yup. As expected it was a pricing error. They canceled my order today. The vendor offered to give me a 15% discount if I wanted to buy another bike from them. Psh, not likely! :tongue5: The bikes are still in the $60-$70 range and the afterschool.com deal is even better, if I decide to repurchase.

DS1 started walking at 10 months and got his Strider at 14 months, by 16 months he started to get the hang of it.

DS2 started walking at a year, at 18 months he is starting to get the hang of it but we moved and he is having to learn in the grass versus the sidewalk and honestly, he doesn't get near the one on one time with it that his brother did.

I would start them as soon as they can run.

They probably meant to type "$61.99" for the price and typed $16.99 instead. It was worth a try though! :)

Sierra Trading Post has Strider bikes for $74.25 (blue, green, red, & orange)
http://www.sierratradingpost.com/strider-st-3-no-pedal-balance-bike-for-kids~p~5766c/
so watch for a decent coupon code (30-40%) to get a great deal.

Code JYS3021J gives 30% off all orders and FS over $100 (bikes are $52 AC + $10 ship).

Not sure if it still is valid, but I've heard if you go through their app you can get free shipping too. Didn't buy or try though.

We bought the extended seat for DDs Strider at Christmas. It works great! We bought a few other accessories too just to make it something new again for her (padding for the front bar, streamers for the handlebars, little block to park it upright and bell.) Go for it!
