DH and I are shopping for a new bed. I think we have settled on wanting a latex mattress. But we're on a budget. Anyone have the SULTAN ELSFJORD? If so, how long have you had it? Are you happy with it? Do you also have a topper?

I have the 85% natural latex mattress for DD. I've been happy with it so far, and we've owned it for 3 years or so. DH and I have a Savvy Rest for ourselves, and I would have preferred 100 percent latex for DD given the choice. At the time we went with Ikea as a decent option in our price point.

When we needed a twin for DS2, we went with a 100% natural latex mattress from Sleep Ez based on recommendation here. I highly recommend that route if you are looking at latex. We had a really good experience. I think we paid a bit under 600, so it was less expensive than DD's Ikea mattress that is a natural/synthetic blend.

If I had known about Sleep Ez when we were shopping for ourselves, I might have gone that route. I like our Savvy Rest, and we were able to try it out in person, but I probably would have attempted Sleep Ez if I knew more about it 7 years ago.

We also have the Ikea 85% natural latex mattress for ourselves (king) and DD (twin). We have been happy with the quality.

While I love Ikea for almost everything, I don't think their latex mattress is actually that budget friendly. I have priced 100% latex mattresses against theirs and there was a few $$ difference. I would go for 100% latex.

The Elsfjord (http://http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80139970/#/40139967) is 100% latex (i believe, am i wrong?) and $500 for a queen. I'll look into Sleep EZ. Any other thoughts, because I certainly haven't seen a better price.

We have an 85% natural latex for our bed (doesn't seem to be sold anymore), and the Edsele for DS'. Both are thicker than the Elsfjord and natural (or mostly natural) which is why we went for them. We were lucky to get both on one of their giant "sleep sales". Looking at the Ikea site I see that both are significantly more than we paid for ours. IDK if they do that in the US or not, but they're usually around back-to-school time here if you can afford to wait. Ours is nearly 6 yrs old and DS' is about 2.5. Both are still in good condition. They don't seem to pack out in the same way that traditional spring mattress sets do.

The Elsfjord is not Natural Latex. This one is though, SULTAN EDSELE http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30188468/#/80188475

Thanks so much for the feedback. I finally decided on a latex mattress from SleepEZ. Last night was our first night on it. INCREDIBLE. I slept so well. I can't believe I waited so long to go for it.

Good to hear! I need to pull the trigger. I had another terrible night sleep. My shoulders are killing me.

Did they help you figure out the layers to get? How thick of a mattress did you get?

How much did it end up costing total? I'd love an all latex mattress one day. So far we just have two separate 2" natural latex toppers, so 4" of latex topper total.

Yay!! We went with a Savvy Rest for DH and me. DD has the Ikea 85% natural latex, and DS2 has the Sleep EZ latex. I've been happy with his so far, and had I known about it when we were shopping 7 years ago for our Savvy Rest, I might have gone that route. Glad it is working well!
