I've been watching the starter kits for the Wii Skylanders Giants and just received notice that the price dropped to $39.99 . Good price if you're looking to buy.

I've been watching the price too. It's $39.99 at Target this week as well. Glad I didn't pull the trigger at Amazon around valentines day when it was down to $52!

^ that explains, I assumed they were pricing matching someone. It's been a while since its been so low... Before Christmas.

Is this everything you need to play (other than wii an remote)? I'm thinking about getting it for DS.

Yes, it is everything you need to get started. You can then start collecting different characters, but the ones that come with the starter pack are enough in the beginning.

Comes with the game, the portal where you place the characters and 3 characters,
