Outdoor rugs

Do outdoor rugs really last outside and not get yucky/moldy? Do they require any specific care? Or are they really best in mudrooms or covered porches?

If you live in Colorado Springs where it's sunny 340 days a year or San Diego (coast) where it's sunny & doesn't really rain a lot, I think it'd be a lovely investment. In our coastal area, you're lucky to get one season out of them..well...maybe a year. Here, people put them in screened-in porches that have roofs but not necessarily walls. Still, unless you're talking braided polypropylene, it's mold-city from humidity. YMMV.
