So I think I am going to bit the bullet and purchase a Ninja blender today. I can't swing the Vitamix so I think the Ninja it will be.

I have a 30% Kohl's coupon that starts today and they are on sale, plus $10 Kohl's cash with every $50 spent.

Would I be fine with any model here are my choices. I don't do a lot of food processing stuff so the kitchen system might be over kill. I like the single serve feature but not sure it's worth the additional $40 if that is the only major difference.

Also please hit me up with your favorite smoothie recipes!

Thanks!

I can't answer your questions, but when does the sale end (so I can get to Kohls in time)? I have been thinking about getting a Ninja. Watching this thread.

ETA: some info about the different models in a recent thread that I started: http://windsorpeak.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=455458

I have the Ninja XL, the second blender you posted. I paid a little over $50 (it's usually over $100) during a pre-Christmas sale. I'm happy with it --it's very powerful and I got a great price. It blows my previous Osterizer out of the water. It has the same power motor as all the blenders you listed, I believe. But if I was buying a Ninja today, I'd consider the Ninja Mega. I would almost definitely buy the Ninja Mega over the first and third blenders you posted -- if I was going to pay over $100 for a Ninja, I would want the highest power motor. I think the Ninja Mega is going to be more similar in power to the Vitamix or Blendtec. My blender (1100 watts) does a good job with smoothies (no ice or veggie chunks) but it definitely is not going to turn broccoli into juice like some of the reviews say that the Ninja Mega can.

I don't have the single serve option with mine and it would come in handy. I would NOT pay $40 more just for that option but I think I might pay $40 more for that option with the 1500 watt motor.

It looks like the Mega is sold out at Kohls online but maybe you could find it in your local store?

I just purchased the third option you posted (1100 system) and I have been pleasantly surprised with it. No problem crushing ice or frozen fruit. I even add in handfuls of fresh spinach leaves to smoothies and you don't see any green bits at all. They must be good because my kids have been hitting me up every day to make them again :) Planning to try it out today for the chopping abilities with the smaller container.

I think the smaller travel cups would be nice, but can't justify them for the difference in price. I think model choice really depends on what you plan to do with it. I don't need a juicer, blender, or food processor, so while it can do those things, it isn't what i bought it for. i want nice smoothies with no detectible ice or specks of food. So far, that is what I have. I bought mine at Costco for $100 and because I like their return policy. Not sure if it is with every model, but the one I have came with a big cookbook of things that you can do with the machine.

I really just want to do smoothies so I am thinking just the basic one might work. It has 1000 watts instead of 1100 of the other 2. I'm assuming that won't be a big difference. I don't see the mega model at 1500 watts on-line the pp mentioned. I guess I will just have to see what they have at the store.

if you are a Costco member the Ninja 1100 is on sale for $99. It is available in the warehouse as well.

I went with the XL basic model. I got the only one they had in the store. They did have the mega one at the store but it was $229 on sale.

I just opened it. Now to go to the grocery store. There are a lot of recipes that come with it as pp said.

So for just over $100 at Kohl's today I got the Ninja blender, an Easter dress for DD#1, shoes for dd#2, and leggings bot both girls. Plus I have $20 of Kohl's cash for later!!!!
