Ds' lips are majorly chapped. It is bad. I have tried vasoline and --I forget what else--I think some kind of neutrogena therapy for chapped lips. Not helping.

Any suggestions?

Vitamin E works the best for us by far. We simply bite the end off of a gel capsule and squeeze it out.

DD and I both habe this issue. We have had the most success with very regular application of aquaphor (at night, in am, and during the day too when they are really bad). It makes them better, but the problem never really disappears.

Never tried Vitamin E gel capsule...might give that a shot!

This might sound wacky but lanolin works great for me and DS. I think it stays on better then aquaphor and I figured if it's safe for BFing it's safe for our lips. Plus I had lots of the little sample tubes left.

Plain old Chapstick works best for our kids. And I've tried lansinoh, aquaphor, burt's bees...

Have you tried a really gentle lip scrub first? You can make one with oil (olive, coconut, jojoba, etc.) and salt or sugar or cornmeal.

I like cocoa butter on my lips, but it dries out my oldest's more. She prefers aquaphor.

We have also used lanolin & aquaphor. Also, I'd say drink more water and take fish oil. This seems to help to keep the chapped lips from coming back in our house.

I've had great success with neosporin.

When my boys were younger and used to get bad chapped lips I would wait till they were asleep and then put a light coating of Neosporin/Polysporin and then a generous coating of Aquaphor. It usually did the trick. You only need to use the Neosporin for a few days and then just aquaphor alone for another few days. I have had good luck with Karite lips lip balm too. I believe Whole Foods carries it.

Aquaphor, used regularily. Lanolin stays on really nively. Chapsticks stashed in the car/coats/backpacks

My older son's lips are always very chapped. I have to have him gently rub them in the shower with a wet washcloth to exfoliate them. And then put on Aveeno lip balm. It seems to work the best. It goes on a lot smoother than many lip balms and really seems to moisturize.
