I have a belated bday gift to buy for a 2yo boy. Space is an issue. I'm looking to spend $20-40 but can go up a bit for something great. Thanks!! It's only been 3 years since I had a 2yo but I'm drawing a blank. Thanks! Oh, bricks and mortar! I have Prime but I waited too late.

I highly recommend the LeapFrog Leaptop (http://www.amazon.com/LeapFrog-19150-My-Own-Leaptop/dp/B0038AJYSS/)! Fun, educational, and doesn't take up a lot of space. Portable even, so it's great for road trips! ;) I know Target has them. DD loves hers. It names animals and plays songs, so it's a definite hit here!

My 2 YO is into Thomas right now, I just got her a take-along thomas set at walmart. It is not big, folds up for storage or on the go, and the track is one piece (it folds) so it doesn't keep coming apart like the wooden ones. That with a few trains would put you right on budget!

Duplos and train sets are my go-to gifts at that age. Even if you accidentally buy him a duplicate, they're the sorts of toys where you can add to the collection they already have.

Duplos are definitely great! Also, my DD's absolute favorite gift at her second birthday; one of those musical cards (hers had dogs barking out the tune to "Happy Birthday"). She LOVED that card, and carried it around until it was literally falling apart (as in, six months later).
