I noticed that a lot of the Kumon workbooks are on sale for $3-something and $4-something. Not sure how hot of a deal this is, but figuring they retail for $6-$8, I thought it was worth mentioning... especially if anybody needs ideas for filler items! ;) As always, free shipping with Prime or FSSS when you spend $25.

Hmm, these seem like a good deal. Anyone know what they usually are on Amazon? I might pick up a couple. Also, any recommendations on good ones?

It is a good deal. They're usually between $5-6 each. I like the mazes books to encourage my reluctant 5-year-old writer to use a writing instrument (work with him on pencil grip, etc.).

You're welcome! I always check CCC before I buy. For reference for anyone else, here's an example. This is the price history for My Book of Easy Mazes (http://www.amazon.com/Book-Easy-Mazes-Kumon-Workbooks/dp/1933241241/) (currently $3.18, retails for $7.95):
http://camelcamelcamel.com/Book-Easy-Mazes-Kumon-Workbooks/product/1933241241

CCC will show you the last 5 price updates:
Mar 30, 2013 03:04 PM $3.18
Mar 28, 2013 10:04 PM $4.66
Mar 23, 2013 10:19 PM $5.43
Mar 18, 2013 02:07 PM $5.18
Mar 16, 2013 09:36 PM $4.94

And I like that it gives you a snapshot of the price history:
Amazon Price History
Current: $3.18 (Mar 30, 2013)
Highest: $7.95 (Nov 03, 2011)
Lowest: $3.18 (Mar 30, 2013)
Average: $6.00

Generally, if something is less than the average price, I feel like it's a good buy.
ETA: If something shows up as the lowest price ever, then it's a GREAT buy! ;) :D

I know costco sometimes has Kumon. Any idea on how much they usually go for?

Apparently they've had these on sale now for a while now. I posted about this on February 25th.

I got some coloring and cutting for DS1. He loves the cutting one (which I expected since he loves cutting everything anyway). He can go through it fast so I limit the number of pages he can do in one sitting, but I do think it's helping. I'm not sure that the coloring book has really increased his interest in coloring in regular coloring books or on blank paper though which is what I was hoping.

I bought it for $14.99 (3 books in one package) at Costco.

Amazon might have matched B&N or vice versa.

Sorry. Maybe they added more to the sale because for the few books I checked, it seemed like a recent price drop. It didn't occur to me to check old threads.

Yeah, it was a previous thread, but this was a bigger drop that made a lot of them a lot cheaper.

I went ahead and bought some last night because of this. Probably spent money I shouldn't have, but I used a Amazon gift card for some, so that's ok, right? And I got a couple of other items I've been "needing" since I hit the $25 mark for free shipping.

Thanks so much for posting the updated pricing!

No, don't be sorry! I was late buying the last time this was posted and all but about 3-4 had either gone back up in price or were not this cheap to begin with. I bought three then (thanks to OP from that February thread too) and that was the first time I had bought any of these and I was very impressed with the quality. Thanks for posting.

Thank you for posting this! I bought 3 of them for regular price a few months ago, and this is a great deal. Bought 10 more!

Yes, I gave a few as gifts and when I went to replace them, they were even cheaper! These books are phenomenal! DD is in love with them, and her cutting skills have exponentially taken off! Just note that the books with one kitty or bunny on the front saying "Ages 2 & Up" are smaller (about half the size) of the other books with an age range, like "2-3-4" or "5-6-7." I still think they're a great value, and especially for little kids where the enormity of cutting or coloring such a large sheet of paper can overwhelm the task. Someone recommended putting the mazes one in a plastic protective sheet and letting kids do them over and over with a vis-a-vis marker (or get the dry erase plastic sheets & use dry erase markers). Seems like a good idea...we have 10 or so books now. LOVE Kumon!

Thanks OP. I went with the BnL deal since I had a gift card. Looking forward to working on these with DDs this summer.

Just look at the age range for your almost 3yo. I got anything and everything that was 2 and up or in the 2-3-4 age range. I got a few progressive books for cutting and coloring skills for the 3-4-5 age range, but we won't move into them until 4 months from now. Many of those skills truly are advanced as you get toward the end of the book. We've started doing 1-2 pages every 3 days, but as for cutting, DD is still fine-tuning her skill of cutting all the way across a page. She wants to remove her scissors and cut the same place over and over again, so we can't move on to more complex cutting diagrams until she masters cutting all the way through a page. We're practicing on old junk mail until then.

Does B&N have this deal in stores or just online?

Just online. And B&N won't "price match" their online store.

Also, I noticed that some of the workbooks are starting to creep back up in price. There are still quite a few great deals out there though. Glad you all are finding some cheap ones!

Lastly, if you've bought some of these workbooks, next time you place an Amazon order, be sure to check out your "Quick Picks" from the Gold Box Deals page: http://www.amazon.com/gp/goldbox/ref=xs_gb_dtl_rtn_1_op#quickPicks (If the link doesn't work, make sure you're logged in and look at the bottom of the "Today's Deals" page.)
I was able to snag the Kumon cursive workbook for $5.50 this way. (Info about Quick Picks deals. (http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=xs_gb_mp?ie=UTF8&nodeId=914590#quick))

Thanks for posting! I ordered a few, most are arriving next week. One arrived yesterday - in a HUGE box (13.5x11.25x9.75). Yikes. I thought I ordered a toaster or something and forgot.
