Any recommendations on a good swingset for under $1000. DDs are 3 and 4.5. I figure we will get 5-7 years of use from the swingset and then they will move on. Any moms of older kids with swingsets, please weigh in as to how long your children used their swingsets.

Maybe Craig's List for a used one? You can usually hire someone to install for a modest fee. I think your use estimate is about right. My kids are 5 and 8 and barely use the swing set anymore.

Does your budget include installation? After a lot of research, I think we are going with this set:

Sam's club has a similar set that is just under $1000.

We don't have a big yard so we had to go with something with a compact footprint.

I don't have a cheap suggestion, but I did want to say that my 7 and 9 year old still use our playset all the time, like every time they go in the backyard (which is a lot).

We did buy ours from Craigslist. It was an expensive set originally, and I paid $200 for it, plus another $150 or so for someone to move it and set it up. It's pretty rotted at this point. I don't think even the expensive ones are made to last 15 years, and most people selling them have had them for 10 years. That said, if we end up moving, I'll probably look for another used set since we have probably only another 5 years of use out of it.

We have a Lifetime set and LOVE it. It's the Monkey Bar Adventure (http://www.lifetime.com/playground/playsets-and-swing-sets/monkey-bar-adventure/90143) set and I think it was around $900.

We were looking at this set. Costco gives the option for installation on some of the sets for $200, which is very reasonable.

We have the one that Costco sells each year for $1000. It is a great deal and all cedar with a twisty tube slide, two level fort...The only downside is that you need to pick it up yourself or hire someone to do that for you.

BJs also has a whole bunch under $1000 (warehouse club similar to Costco)

No experience yet, but that is probably where we'll shop for ours.

We got a costco set 5-6 years ago. In July (I think) Costco starts putting summer items on clearance. We got the set for about $400 off the sticker price by getting it when it went on clearance.

Punkin is 9 and rarely uses the set anymore (but he was never big on swings) but Boo is 4 and uses it everytime we open the back door.
