I thought long and hard about my ambitions and my family and I decided to put off midwifery for the time being. I don't think I can realistically be on call until I don't have babies in the house. My alma mater offers significant tuition breaks for alumni, which makes it easier for me. I'm doing my masters in nursing education and then I hope to do a post masters in midwifery or a DNP specializing in maternal-child health. My kids have to be my priority right now, but I'm 32, I have plenty of time for them to grow up and then for me to fulfill all my ambitions too.

Congrats! I'm just in my BSN program but know I want to go on for my Masters/DNP after this. School & kids is just a different type of juggling but when you are already used to lack of sleep it seems manageable. :)
