DS marked absent when he should not have been. Big deal?

In March, DS missed 2 days of school for an academic competition. He was not supposed to be marked absent, since it was a school event. One of the days, he was marked absent. He's otherwise only missed 4 days this year. Is it a big deal that it's on there? Should I see if it can be corrected? Or, just not worry about it.

Our school starts with letters and meetings at 7 days missed, so I would probably ask them to correct it. However, it can always be corrected later if you need to.

I would because it is an "official" record. It's in the school's benefit too because of funding, assuming this is a public school. If it's a private school, I wouldn't bother.

I emailed his teacher this morning and they are now fixed. Both are marked as "school reason" and are no longer counting in his total absences for the year. Easy enough and I'm glad I emailed.
