I know that a few people on here have Ooma. We just got 2 Leaf antennas so we can cancel our cable and now we're thinking of switching to Ooma (or Obi?) so we can cancel our phone package as well.

Are there any negatives you've encountered at all?

And where did you purchase it from? Is there any benefit to purchasing it directly from the company? It looks like it's cheapest on Amazon right now for $142 shipped. According to the Ooma website it looks like our monthly bill for the taxes would be just $4.

And what about Obi? I know at least one poster on here has it. It looks like it's only $39 on Amazon. I haven't looked up how it works though and it you just pay the taxes like Ooma.

We have cable and use the obi combined with free google voice. No phone bill at all. As long as you have a decent internet connection (ours is cable) you won't have any problems. I've had ours for about a year now and its nice not to have a separate phone bill
