It's my first day....

Boss b*tched at me twice over things my trainer told me to do.
I got ZERO regular breaks.
My lunch break was 20 minutes.
I was gone 11 hours from home, and will get paid for 8. Oh, and I will get paid $2.50 less per hour than at my old job!

The anti-bitch part: I started as a temp employee, so, unless there's a huge improvement, I'll just say "no thanks" when offered the job.

I hope this is as bad as things can be, and that they improve from there, but don't count on it and keep looking. Good luck!

Oh my goodness. At least you know this is not a place you want to be long term. I hope you survive the short term period.

Fun update!

No saying, "yeah." "Yes" is the only acceptable comment.

No saying, "what are we seeing you for today?" It must be "what brings you in today?"

I must ask for a full illness history, but am only allowed to tell the doctor the next patient is ready. And in the chart, I may only put up to 3 words for why they are there.

No one ever practices good hand hygiene.

There's no safety syringes--like I'm going to risk a needle stick?!?

I could go on and on.... But there's 4 more hours to work today, and calling the agency to say its not a good fit.

Run. Run as fast as you can. Why on earth would you take a history that you can't write down and can't tell anyone about?!? And what Dr. wouldn't want the patient's history? Sounds like a hot mess of a place.

Yeah, you need to get out of there. I can't imagine being associated with such a rigid and odd practice!

Call the agency and the state health/licensing department. Yikes!

Yesh, I'd report them to the state employee grievance board about the lack of breaks and if you're working more hours than they pay you.

The heck with working there, I'd hate being a PATIENT! :irked: You deserve MUCH better.

Wow. It sounds like they're anal about stuff that doesn't matter & negligent about the stuff that does. Way to run a medical practice.

Wow! Now I know why the doc never seems to know any of the info that I gave the nurse. I agree, run! I'm so sorry.
