Could it be an ear infection?

Took DD to doctor on Monday afternoon due to fever, cough, sore throat, and occasional ear pain. Doctor looked at both ears and said no ear infection. Swab confirmed the flu.

Today, DD, still with fever (hovering right above 100), cough, sore throat, tiredness, said that her ear hurt a lot. Gave her Advil.

Is it possible she has an ear infection?

Definately possible! I can't tell you how many times I have taken my DS2 in for resipritory illnesses and his ears were fine, only to be back a day or two later with full blown ear infections.

Can get an ear infection seconds. I recently had a sinus infection with ear pain. I did not have an EI, I just had a lot of fluid in my ears.

Yes, it could totally be an EI.
