DS has been using the Zolibot cup and loves it. (http://amzn.com/B0031E1GEG)

We definitely have a love/hate relationship with this cup. Of course we love that DS loves it. The straw is weighted so it's very easy for him to get liquid out of it. Also - DS has tried several cups and it always seems that the flow is too fast for him. For frame of reference - he used a #2 nipple up until 10 months. He also nursed.
Cons- for some reason it seems that liquid comes out of the straw by itself when the cup is tightly sealed. I'm assuming this is bc there's no where for the air to escape. This is extremely annoying as we will find puddles of liquid within a matter of seconds after filling the cup. The liquid will go back down the straw if we open the cup for a moment to let the air escape.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions for a straw cup especially one with a slower flow. TIA!

My son has low oral motor tone, so straw cups were a HUGE struggle for us. So many require that you bite on the straw and suck at the same time, and for him he just couldn't do it. We finally found the Tommee Tippee straw cups. I can't recall the exact name, but they have a normal sized straw that can pop up and down. He can use them without problems. I don't think the flow is very fast. (He never got beyond a slow flow nipple.) They don't leak. He throws them from his high chair on a daily basis, and even then they don't leak. The only con is there are several parts to wash. For us, that was worth it. You can get them in a two pack at Target or Babies r Us. I can find a link if you are interested.

We also love the Tommie tippee straw cups BUT we have discovered mold in a few of them recently. You have to be diligent about washing every single piece and make sure they dry completely. Also I don't recommend them for anything besides water because they are so hard to clean. But I really do love the cup.

If you fill up the zolibo cup a little less than full, does the water still come up? I think any straw cup if filled to the top, the water will come up the draw because there's nowhere else to go.

Thanks for the recommendation ladies! I'll take a look at the Tommy Tippee cups.

You might be right, maybe I am filling the cup too high.....I plan on calling customer service anyway. I re-read some of the reviews on Amazon and it seems many people have called and gotten replacement cups. They aren't cheap. I think I paid $12 per cup and we have 2 at home and 1 at daycare.

Please send the link if it's not too much trouble. I see a bunch of different straw cups on their site, I'm not sure which one is best....

We had great luck with the Playtex two-handled straw cups (http://www.playtexbaby.com/CupsMealtime/Lil-Gripper/LilGripperTrainingCup) for a very long time (no need to bite and suck, they were fabulous for us). When we finally switched to larger cups, we went with the Playtex, but weren't so happy with them. Now, we really like these Nuby cups (http://nuby.com/en/nuby/cups-spouts/830/).

I love Zoli! They have excellent customer service and sent me free replacement straws a while back too!

However, I have found that they are quite prone to leak, so I only use them at home now. When we go out, we use the Nalgene sippy (http://www.amazon.com/NALGENE-Tritan-Grip-N-Gulp-BPA-Free-Bottle/dp/B001NCDE20/) and so far, no leaks! Another water bottle I'd like to try is the Contigo (http://www.amazon.com/Contigo-Autospout-Striker-Water-Bottle/dp/B009MLPSOG/) (I've seen them for sale at the cafe at Barnes & Noble).

We own the Contigo hot/cold thermos. They are by far and wide the BEST. They keep our coffee hot for hours. We've used them only a handful of times for cold beverages. COSTCO (my favorite store) sells 2 packs of both their water bottles and thermoses. I know the price is below $20, maybe it's $16 or $18. Far less than I've seen elsewhere. I bet that the other Contigo products are great.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've bookmarked the link.
