So DS2 is CLEARLY tired
It is 2 mins before his bed time
you want to give him a bath (which he needs but I'd be ok with doing it in the am)
you give him 2 more minutes of game time and then say bath
he pitches a fit and you give him 3 MORE minutes to watch a show
DS2 is now watching Ninjango for 3 minutes

THIS IS A STUPID IDEA
YOU ARE NOT BEING CONSISTANT
YOU ARE REWARDING HIM WHEN HE PITCHES A FIT

ALL THE ABOVE PISSES ME OFF

that is all

Ugh. If it was my DH, he would then get really angry at DD that she was not complying with the going to bed.
Sorry!!!!

3 minutes of a 30 minute show? That seems like a scenario made for whining.

I especially like it when DH says "no books tonight since you are watching extra tv." Good thinking. Trade books for tv.

Perhaps you could parlay that into terms he'd be more likely to understand... ;)

Sorry OPer. My dh has been known to do this sort of absurd bargaining too. It is sooooo frustrating to watch.

OP: Tomorrow is Mother's Day. Why don't you start early, by spending bedtime at the mall, or at a Starbucks, so you don't have to watch the insanity?

And maybe you leaving the house will be enough of a shock that everything settles down?
