View Full Version : Anyone actually ever order from J Peterman?

Looking though the catalog this morning, enjoying the clothing descriptions. I started thinking about the quality and how the clothes for versus the romantic descriptions, and that someone must order from them to keep them in business. So... Anyone here ever order from J Peterman? How are their clothes? More curious than anything :-)

I've never ordered anything, but they used to have a B&M store in NYC and I bought a dress there.

It was very similar in style to this, although it was silk and had a smaller floral print.

I thought the quality was good. I still have the dress although I haven't worn it in years...it did get worn to several weddings in the late 1990s, and it is just too pretty for me to get rid of. Since the style is kind of retro, I don't think it looks dated. I just need an occasion to put it on.

I have some tops and a very retro looking skirt suit that I bought at the Detroit area store about 15 years ago. Everything was very nicely made and held up well.

Yes, a real company. Mr. Peterman on Seinfeld was one of a kind.

Quality is excellent. The store (now closed) was in Lexington ky where I went to college. I still have a pair of pants from there, probably (gulp) 18 years later

Hey do the tags say J Peterman or are their clothes made by other manufacturers? My FIL LOVES Seinfeld and I think he would get a huge kick out of getting something from the catalog.
