we have captive car time each week (to the countryside and back) and want to listen to some audiobooks. Boy is nine, reads at level or a bit higher. Any recomendations?
He is currently reading Tin tin and read aloud is Gregor the Overlander. We've already finished the HP series. Many thanks!!

Something that appealed to all of us was John Grisham's Theodore Boone books.

My absolute favorite audiobooks (so much that I highly recommend listening, not reading them) are the Incorrigibles series by Mary Rose Wood. Also, another favorite is Barrel of Laughs, Vale of Tears by Jules Feiffer.
We love audiobooks!

Have you read the entire series of Gregor? My son also loved The Lost Hero series and anything Percy Jackson.

Other Favorites:
Series of Unfortunate Events
Dahl
Hank Zipzer

Artemis Fowl?

We like some of the Greathall audiobooks, but that's kind of dependent on the kid. I usually match some up to our history studies (Galileo and the Stargazers, Masters of the Renaissance, Shakespeare, etc. when we did SOTW 2 last year, for example)

Diary of a Wimpy Kid? I see those at our library regularly.

Can't go wrong with anything Dahl for that age, I think.

Cherry Jones reads the Little House series and she is fantastic. Her voice is rich and warm. We also liked Frindle.
