DS was just diagnosed with a milk allergy. It was recommended that we start him on a calcium supplement. Does anyone have any suggestions for a brand? He's 4.5 FWIW.

I like this Calcium supplement (http://www.amazon.com/Bluebonnet-Liquid-Calcium-Magnesium-Citrate-blueberry/dp/B00028P0ZK).

I like this one because I prefer Calcium citrate since one doesn't have to take it with food and you can measure it to the amount of mg recommended by your ped.

It is an adult supplement but can be measured for what you need.

my dd does not like mik, yogurt or cheese so the ped suggested a calcium supplement. she told us to try Caltrate Gummy Bites because they were the only ones her own daughter would eat. my dd loves them! they taste like gumdrops. :)

I get them at Target.

Our DC take a Target brand calcium supplement this is also a fruit flavored gummy chew but it is made for adults (house brand of Vitafusion). They are vitamin D fortified which is necessary for calcium absorption and hence an essential ingredient in a calcium supplement.

Our kids take 1 of these (adult dosage is 2): http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=206248&catid=183252&aid=338666&aparam=goobase_filler&device=c&network=g&matchtype=

Our ped likes them because they have D in them as well. She said that all kids should take D now because it's not possible to get the updated RDA of D through dairy, etc.

ETA: I usually buy them at Costco in a 2 pack. They go on sale about once a month it seems. This is probably horrible, but I put them in the treat section of their Planetboxes along with 2 DHA gummies.
