Am thinking of going to those Wilton Cake Decorating classes, possibly at Michael's. Has anyone been to any of their classes? Is it worth it? I just thought it would be fun.

I bet you'd learn a lot. I've always wanted to do it!

I did and it was super fun. You have to do "assignments" outside of class though (like make icing and cakes and bring them in)... so if you have time to do that, I'd say go for it. Make sure you bring a coupon to your first class because that's when they take everyone into the store to get all the needed supplies.

I've taken 1-3 twice and 4 once. I really enjoyed it. A lot seems to depend on the instructor though. You do the most homework for 1, because you're learning how to level the cake, how to make the right consistency icing for different things and basic decorating.

I did a class with my sister. It was a lot of fun. She continued to do all the other classes and does all of our cakes now. She enjoys making cakes and we enjoy having the beautiful, teared fondant cakes for the smallest of celebrations. :)

I took 2 of the 3 offered (at the time) before kids. I really enjoyed it and learned a lot. I have made just about all of my kids' birthday cakes.

I personally haven't but my sister did and loved it. But I bet it would depend on the instructor. You should go for it. At the very least you get a fun night out. And if for some reason you hate it you don't have to go back.

It's a lot of fun! I did an intro class. We had to bring in a round cake, and we learned to frost and decorate. They provide the frosting, which is nothing healthy, but the instructor insists it works the best:tongue5:
