NPR piece on dog homes and allergies

Just heard this on NPR.

Interesting near the end is the mention about lower level in umbilical cord blood of pregnant women living in homes with dogs of antibodies associated with allergies and also a study whereby adolescents in home with more native plant species were less likely to suffer from allergies.

Saw this earlier this week and it totally makes sense. We live in a pretty artificially clean environment for the most part. I guess dogs help keep things dirty, LOL!
