I've narrowed it down to these three (listed in no particular order) that I like the best for her party (rainbow theme)

I'm slightly concerned about all of them b/c they're not lined...do you think they'll end up looking cheap/be able to see the diaper through them?

I asked about lining them, but was told that wasn't really feasible, but they could create a diaper cover...but that might look weird too, no?

Am I over-thinking this?

I'm tempted to order two b/c they're so cute...

thanks!

I like the third one best. Love the polka dots. I would just do a diaper cover. I bet she will look so cute!!

The dresses are adorable. I wouldn't worry about the lining. You could always put some shorts or a white diaper cover on her to cover any diaper pattern. I'm guessing she will be held or sitting for most pics so it's not like you would see light through her legs like you might for an adult in a white dress.

I'd be more worried about her wearing a rainbow cake on her gorgeous dress!! ;-) but hey, that's part of the fun of a first birthday!

Ps:you are making me feel like a total underachiever for my similar aged son. Must start planning my baby's party soon! :bag:

I like the first one, but I don't think you could go wrong with any if them. They are all really cute.

I like 1 and 3. 2 I think the bows detract from baby's face. 1 I would want to see that style on a baby. I would be a little concerned about the width of the straps being too much around their shoulders.

All very cute. I like the second one. It looks the most unique to me.

I would just put white knit bike shorts or a white diaper cover on her.

:yeahthat: I also don't get why #1 is much more expensive than the other two.

I like 1 or 3 the best.

I really don't like the pillowcase style. It always looks so cute on the hanger but it tends to look sloppy when on, IMO.

I agree, those type of dresses are light cotton dresses and don't need to be lined. I love the idea of a matching diaper cover.

I voted for #1. I think #3 is nice, also. I would get a really cute diaper cover with her name monogrammed on it.

I voted for #2 based upon more unique style, less busy than #3 and better price than #1. I happen to like the pillow case dresses on DD2 though (so long as they are not cut too wide).

This one is pricier, but looks more like a party dress to me: http://www.etsy.com/listing/128847060/girls-chevron-dress-monogrammed-baby?ref=sr_gallery_32&ga_search_query=rainbow+chevron+dress&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_page=3&ga_search_type=handmade

I like #1 or #3. I'd be worried that the shoulder tie on #2 would bug my DD or become untied.

Of the one's you have, #3.

I would be a little hesitant about some of them as that chevron pattern can be a little overpowering on a little one, and you really want her, not the dress to be the focal point.

Are you trying to include all the rainbow colors? Some of those dresses are missing what I think of "rainbow"....

I also like this one as well.

I too am not keen on pillowcase dresses, esp if it's a younger child.

And because I have nothing better to do tonight...

Here's a more casual one, that is CLASSIC rainbow.

I like #3 best because of the multi-colored polka dots. But #1 is great too.

I would definitely choose number 1. #3 is cute also, but after reading the listings, looking at the shops, feedback ratings, etc., #1 would definitely be my pick. And I wouldn't worry about the dress being non-lined since its made with quilting weight cotton...you aren't gonna need a lining. Good luck with your party! Love the rainbow theme!

I like the first one best because I like the blue at the bottom. My DD has a very similar dress to 1 and 3 out of the same fabric. It is also unlined and totally not an issue; her underwear does not show through. I think your DD will be fine in the diaper, and if not you can always use a diaper cover. The etsy shop you choose may even be able to sew a cover out of coordinating fabric.

Here is DD's dress. It is by SunLoveShirts on Etsy.

I like the ones in the OP better, all 3 are adorable, but I especially like 3 and then 1. The lack of lining is not an issue IMO.

Don't feel bad, I've been planning DD's party for months!

I also like the first three, both #1 & 3 in particular). You really can't go wrong... I have to admit I obsess like that too (I have random.org's coinflip bookmarked-- if I catch myself obsessing over something that doesn't matter, I flip for it and decide I'm done!)

And you're not alone in over-thinking stuff like this-- it's fun to plan, and dress up your little girl!

I too still like the originals and am warming up to #2, I think it looks really cute on toddlers.

I think they're all cute, but I like #1 the best. Love that chevron fabric -- I have a small stash of the tonal chevrons by Riley Blake and they feel lovely.
