Usually I have a drink beforehand. I have never taken a Xanax or any tranquilizer in my life, but have a flight coming up and don't know what to do. I would take Benedryl, but I hate feeling so sleepy and hungover all day. Is there something safe in pregnancy I can take for the flight?

I will ask my OB/GYN, but at the moment it's a Sunday and I am on the Delta website and totally frozen in fear to purchase the tickets! Help!

My grad school professor wrote this book about overcoming the fear of flying. I haven't read it, but he said it's good and has been in print for a loooong time. http://www.amazon.com/Flying-without-Fear-Effective-Strategies/dp/1572247045

I have it! Haven't read it in awhile, but will dust it off now that I seem to be regressing. Had a few terrible flights lately and am back to being terrified.

Well, I hope it helps! He said he used to teach classes for American Airlines, and that the fear of flying was totally a behavioral thing you can overcome. You can do it! :cheerleader1: I haven't asked about the author in a long time, but I do see his former colleagues and their family members all the time. Good luck!!
