Easel: M&D or Ikea

Am deciding what to get for my 5-year old and 3-year old - M&D or Ikea? Are there any other brands I should be looking at? Does Michael's sell M&D that I can use the coupon with?

We really like the M&D, especially if you have a 5 yr old, it's bigger and sturdier. We've had it since DD1 was 2 - so 5 years, and it's still going strong! That said, the IKEA is perfectly good, and if it's a big saving, you should probably go for it. Amazon sometimes has deals on M&D, so keep your eye out.

We've had our Ikea easel for 2 years now and it's still going strong. We picked it because of the price, and the fact that it fits better with our house (it lives in the living room).

DS1 is 6.5, DS2 is almost 5.

I bought the M & D one in late December at Kohls for $25. You might want to check your local store.

Our M&D one fell apart. They replaced it and the replacement fell apart. I would not buy theirs.

we got the ikea one for $10 and it has been a work horse. DD is 7 and still uses it daily 5years later.

IKEA all the way, for the value. I looked at both of them. The IKEA one is lighter but it is sturdy, looks great, and is a workhorse! Both of our girls use it almost every day with no problems at all.

My only design gripe is that I wish there was a tray on both sides.

I have the Ikea one too. My 2.5yr old destroys it and it keeps on standing. She colors all over the wood too and it wipes clean.

I'd highly recommend it!

We have had an M&D easel since DD1 was 2/1/2. The kids love it.

We have an Ikea one and love it. Can't beat the price. DS doesn't use it all that often, so I don't feel bad for small amount of money paid.

I would get whichever is cheaper. In my case, I got the M&D b/c it was on clearance at Kohl's for super cheap at $6.50--my best find.

But my little DS keeps pulling on the screws and I keep putting them back on. Also, he has stepped on the clips and broken two. I bought it for my older child who plays with it well. I've seen the IKEA one and I'd probably get that one for the value and I think it does the job the same as the M&D. I even get the easel paper from IKEA which is so much cheaper.
