Need help with outfit for award presentation

I will be presenting an award next week at a big event at a hotel. I have no idea what to wear! Help!

I was thinking of maybe wearing this Max Mara wool dress:

Is it formal enough? I would of course need to buy stockings (ugh - gross) and some really fancy black high heels.

I don't wear wool because am sensitive to it, so forgive me if this is dumb, but won't it be awfully hot in a wool dress in June?

I think it looks great. I agree it could be hot if you are under a lot of lights and tend to sweat when nervous (like I do!). But that look is great for presentations and being on stage. How many people will be in the audience? Will there be video monitors? are you behind a podium or sitting in a high chair? These are all factors for me with what I wear -- how much make up, shoes etc :)

Hillview, I don't know anything about the details, but this is in a hotel ballroom so I am assuming I will present behind some sort of podium on a stage. I think there will be between 750-1000 people there. Ackkkk! I'm nervous just thinking about it!

I might go with shoes I am rock solid in walking :) wear a little extra make up with that many people. GOOD LUCK that sounds awesome!
