8 yo DD seems to suddenly have outgrown her size 8 shorts/jeans. When I try to find something for her to wear, the next size seems to be 10?!? Am I looking the wrong places, or is there typically not a size 9 option? What do people normally do in this situation? Size 10 is going to be huge for her.

Size 7 is the last odd numbered size. After that they are only evens, so 10 is the next size up from 8.

DD has some size 9 gymboree, and I've found it a few other places too, but mostly size 10.

I found with ds that it jumped from 8 to 10. If the 10s are too big, I found switching brands up helped. So, for example, ds outgrew his size 8 LE by height but the 10s were still too long, he could wear size 8 from Gymboree.

Yup, since DS1 has moved into the big boy sizes, I've had to branch out to different brands since there was such a big jump between sizes so I couldn't just stick mostly to LE like I used to.

Boden 9-10 should work - it seems to fit like a 9.
