is it possible? should I use strawberry puree? how can I make it and what amount so my frosting does not become runny?

I would think that strawberry puree would work ... I would start with a spoonful and work up to the desired color and consistency. You could also probably use some beet juice for a red color. I did a quick search and found this! http://www.sophistimom.com/red-velvet-cake-all-natural-no-red-dye/

I second the beet juice idea. It adds great color and no taste.

oh beets!! beautirful! But reading a bit of the blog I am wondering if the beets will change color after sitting a while. I guess it is time to experiment...thanks! btw, if you have more suggestions, please post - I need it to be pink for a welcome baby girl party.

Raspberry puree gives a bubblegum pink color really well. Frozen works best bc you also get the juice.
