Are these okay for the 9 year old group? DS1 is invited to a birthday party and the boy likes Lego. He doesn't have any of the Brickmasters and I've read about them here, but am unsure of the right age.

I was thinking this one: http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Brickmaster-Star-Wars/dp/0756663113/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1372268840&sr=1-1&keywords=lego+brickmaster+books

Or would the Lego Ideas Book be a better choice: http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Ideas-Book-Daniel-Lipkowitz/dp/0756686067/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1372276707&sr=1-1&keywords=lego+idea+books

DS1 is 10 and he still likes Brickmaster books. He got the Ninjago one for Christmas. As to the other book, it depends what kind of Lego collection he has. DS1 has mainly sets that came designed to be built into one specific thing and not a lot of "free form" Legos so while he's love the book itself he wouldn't be able to use it much because his collection is fairly limited and mostly all put together, KWIM? I think you're fine with either.
