Can anyone tell me where to get the best deal for helium is ? I have 10 36in balloons and was hoping not to spend too much on helium. I know Party City has them but i was waiting for a 40% coupon but havent seen any.

Our dollar tree will only fill Mylar Balloons. I usually buy the large size PartyTime tank from Hobby Lobby with a 40% off coupon.

Check your drugstore. Our Rite Aid fills standard latex for $0.25 each, Mylar for $1 and the huge Mylar (like the specialty shapes from Birthday Express) for $2-3.

You can pick up a helium tank at Michaels with a 40% or 50% off coupon.

Here is Hobby Lobby's store locator: http://www.hobbylobby.com/StoreLocator/
I am in South Carolina and I am not sure if HL is just regional.

Helium is in great demand and short supply currently. http://tinyurl.com/mqmu96t

Is there anyway you could fill with air instead of helium and suspend from the ceiling?

(I own a party store that rents tanks and we charge 7.50 to fill that size balloon. Plus keep in mind the logistics of transporting. You can fit 4, maybe 5 in an empty minivan.)

Interesting! Is there any alternative for floating balloons?

Hydrogen, but its even harder to find and rather explosive :)

they make plastic sticks that you attach the balloons to, so they are sitting on top rather than floating in the air.
