Windows 8 - printer goes offline?

Help! I don't know how to make my printer go back online. It just decides that it's offline. I have had luck in the past either rebooting my laptop or cycling power on the printer, but it's been about a week and nothing is working. Anyone have an idea? I'm not having Google luck, either.

Is the printer wired to your computer, wired to your wireless router, or connecting to your router wirelessly. I get my best printer advice from the amazon reviews of a given model--the reviews rated most helpful often have tips about setup or common issues and how to fix them (if possible). I wonder if you need to set it to not go into deep sleep mode but not knowing more about what type of printer or your setup it's hard to say.
