Doh! Keep or toss?

I was going to make dip with sour cream and a ranch packet for a BBQ at a friends house tonight but my packet was expired. I tossed it and apparently put the sour cream in the cabinet instead of the fridge (hooray pregnant brain!!). We were gone 2 1/2 hours before I found it. Keep or toss? Brand new,unopened.

I would keep it. It's dairy - it will tell you if it's gone bad.

I'd keep the sour cream. Heck I would have kept the ranch packet too, if the expiration date was less than a year old.

It's already sour...what happens after that? I suppose it could become cheese.

It was from 2010, apparently I don't make dip very often. Lol!

I would keep it. We've left sour cream dips out on the table that long and they were just fine.
