Oi! Did I just mess up my Bob? Help!

I purchased an old-style Bob, probably a 2009, and am trying to remove the snack tray/accessory bar. It's about chin high on DS. I feel like I goofed up the stroller, despite following the directions in the original manual. Why do the screws stick out so far still? Am I missing a shorter set of screws? What on earth! Everything was perf until I removed the tray. Maybe I should put it back on. LOL Pics below. :)

Have you tried contacting Bob to ask them??? I don't know, but it doesn't look quite right.

I can't remember exactly, but I think there are two sets of screws. One set to be used if the the bar/ tray is attached an one set for if it isn't.
