Help me with a gender neutral baby shower gift

It's for a friends 2nd baby- they aren't finding out the gender. I'd like to do something around $30 that's original and nice but can't go to my usual fall backs since I can't monogram or so a gender specific thing. I thought about just going to the shower and getting her a gift later when I know the name but I'm worried there won't be many people at the shower so I need to bring a gift I think. Her work is doing a diaper shower so that's covered although that's not quite original enough for what I was wanting. I though chew beads, but I don't think she would wear them- Shes not an accessory person at all.

Help me! (Oh and it's next weekend :))

You can still do a nice blanket or such- sometimes no monogram is better anyway so you can do hand me downs. :)

I didn't find out sex with either kiddo and people bought gender neutral clothes.

One of my favorite things is a collection of favoriteboard books, and then put them in a foldable storage bin (like they have at Target). Maybe add in a book, journal or baby's first year calendar for mom too.

Is there anything she needs? I'd do a quick search to see if she registered somewhere.

I just had my second baby and am obsessed with the Aden & Anais swaddle blankets. They weren't around for my older child. I have 4 cute gender neutrals. Now that I have a girl, I need some girly ones. We use them constantly.

The other thing I've been excited about this second time around are nice hooded towels. The ones from my son are pretty worn thin.

I agree w the blankets...I splurged and got some for my 2nd DC and loved them. Books, special lovie, Sophie (not a hit for us, but I think we are in the minority). She might be registered for a few thing...worth checking around.

Both DC are in LOVE with their bunny lovies...we have multiple backups in case they get lost!
