I just bought some magnetic letters for DS. I would like him to work with them on a tray. I am not sure what to use though. any ideas? cookie sheet is not working.

What's the issue with the cookie sheet? Not magnetic? Not big enough? To hard to hold onto? I bought a magnetic white board for dd, she wasn't very into the letters though so it's been put away for awhile. I keep meaning to get it back out and try again.

A drip pan for cars from Walmart or your local auto parts store. Let's me see if I can find the blog I saw about it.

I am going to get DH to bring one home from work for us!

Here is the blog post.... I am going to paint ours instead of leaving the plain metal.

Sorry for the serial posting!

DH says he sells them for about $10.

:) thanks for the link. I don't need it that big, maybe they'll have smaller ones. I'll check it out.

If the cookie sheet is the right size, you could always take a magnet to the store and buy one that is magnetic. Then when it's no longer in use for the letters, it could be an extra cookie sheet.

This blogger bought a cookie sheet from Walmart for 88 cents: http://blog.maketaketeach.com/the-cookie-sheet-challenge/

I guess the best way to check is to bring a magnet with you though! :)

My girls take turns using the fridge and a cheapo cookie sheet that is horrible for making cookies, so I was glad I could repurpose it!

You can also buy magnetic paint and they can use the wall, table, anything that you want to paint. But I think the paint is pretty pricey. DH used to work for Sherwin Williams and thought it was the coolest stuff, but even w/ his employee discount he said it was pricey.
