which one? pros and cons?

i have a large family, and one of my aunts sends birthday reminders in email, and i'd like to start keeping up with them myself. i don't really want to put them straight on the ical calendar. suggestions?

I keep a list of everyone's birthdays on a separate chart near my envelopes and stamps. I do have to remember to check it periodically so no one is missed.

Yeah. I'm a paper person.

I just downloaded a perpetual calendar and use the same one every year until I run out of room. There are a variety to purchase as well.
This is what they look like:

I use birthdayalarm dot com. Works very well, I get an email the week before a b'day and a day before.

Why don't you want to use iCal? There is a separate birthday calendar https://www.apple.com/findouthow/mac/#birthdayscal

because i didn't know it could do that! cool! i just didn't want to have to put all 30 or so in every year, or put them in as repeating but without their birth year so how old they were would be a mystery.

thanks! i might give that a whirl.

I just put them into the calendar on my phone with a repeat annually
