I have caught on to the the Expedit love except my huge problem is that we don't have an Ikea. (We are in St.Louis, the closest is 6ish hours away in Chicago. There is one being built in Kansas City but that's another year away and still a 3 hour drive for us anyway.) Anyway, has anyone found anything else out there is comparable that they love? I am looking at the Closetmaid cubes at Target/Walmart...http://www.walmart.com/ip/ClosetMaid-6-Cube-Laminate-Organizer-White/16486688...they seem to get good reviews...does anyone have them or any other suggestions?

I am looking for something to put in DS1's room mostly for toy storage. His room is not very big so it definitely couldn't be as big as the 5x5 expedit or even the 4x4.

We have some Closetmaid and an Expedit. The Closetmaid are fine. Not as substantial as the Expedit but they do the job just as well.

we have the target ones (Since I used to live in STL which is ikea no man's land) and expedit ones. They both work. I prefer the Expedit, but have been using my target ones for YEARS now. no problems.

The Costco one seems identical to the 4x2 Expedit. My store has them right now. Only one color though-- dark wood-like.

I have ALOT of Target/closetmaid cubes (a 3x1, a 2x6, and a 2x4 stacked on a 1x2) but no true IKEA furniture and I love my cubes. They have held up great and are super duper functional. I like the itso brand baskets target sells best, the other brands are all flimsy and not nearly as pretty. I have a few of both because the itso are much more pricey and they both do the job but I expect to replace the collapsible ones soon.
