that also provide good arch support. I have ordered a bunch on Zappos and shoebuy.com, but have to return many of them because they are either too wide, don't provide good enough arch support, or look kind of geriatric, lol. These are some that seem to work with my feet, and I have been able to find sales on most of them so far. Other recs would be appreciated too!

So far I have narrowed by search a bit... for sporty - These are from the Walking Company and have built in arch support:
These are more flip flop style - http://www.thewalkingcompany.com/abeo-topanga-neutral-chocolate-coral/22397.
These are more sporty sandal style - I did try them on in store but did not have the color I wanted. Would have to buy online They looked better on - http://www.thewalkingcompany.com/abeo-bahia-neutral-walnut/22324

Was wondering about the Teva Tirras - http://www.zappos.com/teva-tirra?zfcTest=fcl%3A0
and also Teva Zirras - http://www.zappos.com/teva-zirra?zfcTest=fcl%3A0. Merrells seem to run a bit wide but if I could find some with adjustable straps that would help.

For stylish I found the Dansko Sophies to be ultra comfortable and they have adjustable straps - http://www.thewalkingcompany.com/dansko-sophie-red-moray/27576

Also a pair of Orthaheels but they are just a tad wide. I love the way they look though and the arch support is awesome, so I may keep them. I have them in Black - http://www.orthaheelusa.com/women/sandals/carla-sandals.html

I also kind of like these - they are really comfortable and support my feet so well. Don't know if I can get past the Birkenstock look but DH thought they looked cool, lol....http://www.zappos.com/birkenstock-gizeh-birko-flor-raspberry-wine?zfcTest=fcl%3A0

I have a pair of different Abeos from The Walking Company and I'm kind of disappointed, particularly for the price I paid. My feet are narrow and the ankle strap doesn't cinch down small enough (and I got the narrow width!) so they flop around a bit. The footbed is not as comfy as my previous pair (Naot) although my feet are not sore at the end of the day or anything. Any of the others sound/look good to me.

I don't need arch support so can't comment on that, but I am really happy with my teva tirras. I posted pics in the comfortable sandal thread. I just used mine this weekend for the first time and they are extremely comfortable and cute for sporty sandals.

If you read at the end of the comfortable summer shoes thread, I just got a pair of the Teva Tirras this week. So far I've worn them around the house and out twice (walking to the neighborhood park and water play) and they are working out well. The arch support is good (much better than any of my other summer sandals). I'll be wearing them around the National Zoo and Smithsonian Museums later this week.

I got mine from Amazon for $50. I got the Decadent chocolate color, which is more or a purplish or burgandy brown, its different but I like it and it goes well with most of my summer clothes.

I have the dansko Sophie's and love them. But my go to for my narrow foot and high arch are birks. I have three pair...a traditional 3 strap, Granada, and just got Mayari. Wore the mayaris to an 8hr event on my feet and they were great. I got them in silver and I think they look cute and not crunchy like some birks. I always order the N for narrow.

I like the Orthaheels for looks, but I don't think they'd be good as far as "sporty" goes. The Tierra's a cute. The Zirras look really flimsy, I'd be afraid of twisting my heel or stubbing my toe.

There was a pair I liked, and then read the reviews, the person said the same thing. Then they twisted the strap which helped "shorten it" so to speak, to take care of the narrow foot issue so the shoes could be made tighter. Maybe that would help? Though for that price, I agree, they should fit without having to do that!

I ordered the Mayaris too, as well as the Gizeh. They were both so comfy, but I had a hard time deciding. DH was leaning toward the Gizeh. Not that I care what he thinks, but I am so indecisive when it comes to shopping. :( The Mayaris must look really cool in silver!

I was trying to find the "comfortable summer shoes thread" and found it here. I had been looking in the lounge. Going to read it all now!

I got something like this http://www.zappos.com/merrell-jacardia-victoria-blue?ef_id=aA5QKdDgrCcAAAST:20130812030917:s&zfcTest=fcl%3A0 a few years ago and they have held up well. They are very adjustable. DD tried on some 6's and we were able to adjust the straps to fit her narrow feet well.

Good to know, I am ordering some tonight, as well as the Teva Tirras and Zirras and will compare. Now to decide on a color, lol....

LOVE all my Teva mush flip flops. Tierra's or the like aren't my style but the mush make my arthritic feet happy. I also swear by Rainbows-after they r broken in they mold to your feet. Plus they last forever...unless the cat pees on them :hopmad:

I have a pair of "yellowbox" suede flip flops too. My mom got them for me and they are super comfy!
