We never had many ride on toys for DD when she was really small because she was in daycare full time. But, now, DS is home during the day, and sis' plasma car is too big for him!

He is 15 months old, a little taller than average and average weight. Which ride ones do you recommend for this age? I'd like something he can scoot around on with his own power, and something that might last until he is 2 at least. Prefer things without batteries/lights/etc.

TIA!

DS started using this Little Tikes racer when he was just over a year, and still zooms down the driveway on it 2 years later.

When he was learning to walk, he also used it as a walker to push around the yard.

One of my friends has this and it's popular with all of the kids. For indoor use you might also try a wheely bug. DS2 just turned 1 and likes to scoot around on it inside the house. He's still a little tippy on it but I think that will be gone in a month or two when his balance improves.

I second that Litttle Tikes Push & Ride Racer. At about that age (15 months) my son got to play with a neighbor's push vehicle -- and that was the one. He continued to do s up until his 2nd birthday when we moved.

But I was trying to save money so I bought something else on Craigslist. It was never used hardly at all.

THAT one can be pushed and ridden on and is a lot of fun.

Our friends have 4 of these (older model) for their quads. They have held up great. Just looked at them today!

I'll second the Wheely bug! Also, if you've got a ton of space, we have this truck:

We did NOT pay that ridiculous price! We bought it for DS when he was older, but 16 month old DD LOVES it!!! She can't move it by herself from inside yet, but she loves clambering and climbing all over it, going in and out of the door, sitting in the pick up bed. It gets an amazing amount of play in our house! DS still enjoys it, so I know it has a looong play life.
