View Full Version : Labor mojo...please?

I am 39 weeks today. My girls were born at 39+2 and 38+5, so I'm approaching the "as pregnant as I've ever been" stage and I am so ready to be done and meet this little guy. I'm so tired of not sleeping well - I know I won't sleep any better once he's here, but at least I'll get those sleepy little milk-breath snuggles to make up for it!

DH is taking tomorrow off, so logistics are a non-issue from now until Monday morning (in terms of "what do I do if I go into labor and he's at work?!?") I've also got a reasonable number of childcare options between now and then for the big kids.

My ILs are coming Sunday and staying for two weeks. I'm grateful that they'll be here to help, but the idea of being a "watched pot" in my house is rather unappealing. Plus, I'd much rather have their help with a newborn (or in reality, doing fun things with the big kids while I tend to the baby) than just hanging out with them while pathetically alternating between trying to get things done and resting with my feet up.

I want this baby out by then.

So...any labor mojo you'd be willing to send my way would be very much appreciated!

Sarah :)

Mojo mojo mojo!!! :boogie::bighand::cheerleader1::thumbsup::hug::jam min: and VERY SOON

I totally get what you're saying about the ILs being in town and the official "wait" (read: PRESSURE!!) beginning. I could give advice about using the time to relax, get a pedicure, do things that feel good to you, blah blah blah, but you know all that. It still just stinks to be waiting and wondering while being watched! And you need them around when you need them around, not before! I bet it will happen soon though. You're down to hours now! Will be anxiously watching the board for updates!

Nothing yet...I have a midwife appointment this morning and a NST and ultrasound this afternoon, so maybe all this extra monitoring will tick baby off enough that he'll get fed up with being in there and decide it's time to come?

Add a pedicure in there and ask them to give you an extra long massage! :)

That's what happened with me!!! I did request for my membranes to be stripped too. Six hours later my water broke and a had a baby by the next morning. Good luck!

Here's what you do: Plan something REALLY IMPORTANT, that you just can't miss, for today or tomorrow.

You know, like how the delivery person also shows up when you're in the bathroom. Or that important phone call comes when you're changing the baby. ;)

Membrane stripping worked for me at 39 weeks...although I had already had my bloody show by then (or at least lost my mucous plug). Praying for a quick and wonderful labor!

Lots of mojo coming your way! We are right up on 39 weeks ourselves and DD came at 39x1 so I understand and sympathize with your waiting game!

Ugh, I was *so* sure it would be last night...and then I didn't even wake up with false labor (like I have every night for the past two weeks.)

At least I got a decent night of sleep!

Sarah :)

At least you got some sleep. Hopefully your body decided it needed rest before the big show! Those last few days are the hardest. My little guy only arrived when I came to terms with the fact that I might be pregnant forever.

Just wanted to send Sarah some more love and mojo! I went to a big, community outdoor prenatal yoga class this morning and while we were doing flow the leader told us to "send love to the mamas giving birth right now, that someone needs you right now, so send them some love" and I thought of Sarah! Whether you're still waiting or things have finally started moving along, thinking of you!!! :heartbeat:
