We haven't finalized his name yet, but baby arrived early this morning via emergency c/s. Very scary but we're both OK and he's already nursing like a pro. And he has an astonishing amount of hair! I hope this link works...

Oh, he is GORGEOUS and I am usually completely partial to dark hair. He looks like he's a 2 or 3 months old in that photo, with his wide open eyes and all that dark blonde hair. So striking in a baby! You've got a keeper. Congratulations!

Thank you all much for the well wishes! We're still stuck here until tomorrow morning, but all things considered it's been a fairly easy recovery. I just finally got to take a shower and everything and feel very nearly human...which is good since I know at least a few family members have been planning to come visit today!

We took our time with his name, and in the end chose Matthew Denis. Which means he is a gift of God who loves fine wine. :)

And his hair - now that he's finally kept his body temp up enough to have a bath is still a striking full head of blond/very light brown silky softness. My girls both came out with a decent amount of dark hair, but I've been assured that DH had hair just like Matthew's at birth!

I will definitely update with a birth story when I'm home and not trying to type on my phone and have had a little longer to process it all... but we are doing well and I'm just soaking up all the newborn snuggles!
