I want to get my daughter a dollhouse for her 4th birthday. She also has a 2 year old sister, so I want something that they can both play with. I think I've narrowed it down to the Plan Toys terrace one and the Ryan's Room Where the Heart Is. Anyone have any advice? Also, I just noticed that the Ryan's Room one seems to be out of stock everywhere. Is it discontinued? I'm also open to other suggestions. Thanks!

We first had a Plan Toys dollhouse but eventually sold it and went with the plastic Loving Family dollhouse based on recs here. It's still in use by my 2nd grader. The accessories are key. We stocked up during TRU BOGO sales and gave sets out over time. Things like the camping set (w/canoe) the horses, etc. are very much enjoyed. Also, I found some "active" wooden toy sets - bikes and scooters - and my boys will use the various male figures to play alongside DD.

i owuld go with the plan. they are awesome quality and i think the balcony gives a good play space. its harder (for my dc) to play down on the "first floor" part but they do like that its taller. that also makes it nice for 2 children playing together. we have a lot of the plan toys furniture and people sets, but they have added tons of other little people/things to the "doll house collection" (ie. polly pocket princesses, plastic animals and others) and it gets a lot of play around here, by the 6 y/o girl, 4 y/o boy and even teh 2 y/o boy.

We have a My First Plan Dollhouse with a ton of furniture & people. DD1 never got into it, but DD2 loves it and plays with it everyday for a solid amount of time. I'd go with Plan, it's great quality.
