Charlie's Soap vs Sport Suds

I have been a huge fan of Charlie's Soap (CS) for years now. The downsides have been dingy whites (I haven't used oxyclean but I could if I bothered to sort laundry) and (my) stinky lycra workout gear (which gets better after a vinegar soak, and was stinky in Tide HE free before CS). The stinky workout gear led me (from a post on BB) to Sport Suds (SS) and it does seem to do a better job of keeping my once stinky workout clothes unstinky. Are there downsides to switching over to Sport Suds for everything, beyond cost? How is SS on whites? I use vinegar for softener, and started laundering most (not all) things on warm instead of cold when I read some blogs about how the temperature the clothing manuf specify for cold really match up with what is delivered as "warm" to/by the washer.
