We are renting a place with I think Silestone counters. They are lovely. At least they were when they were brand new a month ago! The owner put in white ones and they are showing every possible stain and driving me NUTS! Coffee, tea, wine, etc. stain it. Last night I put a hot pan down for a brief second and it left a big "ghost" mark on the counter that absolutely won't come off! I googled trying to figure it out and apparently I can't put hot pans down and should use coasters for drinks?????? Is there any way to get that heat mark off??

I am kicking myself for setting the hot pan down as the landlord is retiring in this place in a few years and very much wants everything nice. We had granite before and could put anything on it, including hot pans straight out of the oven with no problems whatsoever.

So, is silestone going to be a royal pain in the butt?
